No summer vacation would be complete without an excursion
up to the Duisitzkarsee Hut (elevation 1,680 metres)
in Obertal / Eschach (= car park, from where you can
take a hiking trail or forest road to the hut - approx.
a 1-hour walk)!
This traditional stop-off for hikers and mountain fans
offers hungry guests a range of country dishes and homemade
pastries which are renowned far and wide. While there,
be sure to take a look at its remarkable stove - made
from stones dug up in the mines of days gone by.
Sit out on the terrace and enjoy the enchanting views
out over the Schladminger Tauern mountains and the waters
of the Duisitzkarsee!
Open: beginning of July - mid-October.
At 10:00 a.m. on Sept. 20, 2009: celebrate the return
of sheep from summer pasture in the mountains while
enjoying traditional folk music!
